BS Computer Science

Computer skills are becoming ever-more in demand across many industries, creating a wide range of graduate opportunities. Webster University Thailand offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, designed to give students a solid understanding of information technology, as well as inspire creativity and original thought.

With hands-on learning defining much of the course content, students spend half of the classes involved with practical applications, combining theory and practice. Small class sizes, along with individual and group projects, allow students to benefit from collaboration, as well as personalized attention.

The tutors, many of whom are IT professionals, are dedicated to keeping up to date with the latest tech developments and industry innovations, passing on valuable knowledge to students.

Program Description

Students in this major are focused on making the computer system perform at its highest level. They will become proficient in programming and in understanding the best uses of the machine. These individuals will become IT professionals who keep the infrastructure running. They will be qualified to create new systems, as well as having the skills to maintain and update older systems.

Graduates from this program will be versatile professionals who can solve problems that would jeopardize an organization; they will form the backbone of the internal IT staff.

Learning Outcomes

    • Students will demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and principles of software systems.
    • Students will analyze, design, and document a system component using appropriate computer science techniques and models.
    • Students will make a formal presentation of a software system project, including the demonstration of a working application.
    • Students will demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of advanced software development techniques.

Degree Requirements

A minimum of 120 credit hours, consisting of the following:

  • 51 required credit hours
  • Applicable University Global Citizenship Program hours
  • Electives

All upper-level (3000 and above) courses must be taken at
Webster University.
